FundJournal is provided by Buds Never Stop Company Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong ("we"), 6D, MG Tower, 133 Hoi Bun Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. By using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
A shared journal: members write down what was spent, what was paid back and what is still owed, and the app does the arithmetic. It is not a payment service, wallet, bank or escrow. It never moves, holds or guarantees money, and it takes no part in whatever you record — a trip, a flat, a dinner or a game night. Money changes hands outside the app, in cash or in other apps.
What a ledger shows is only what its members entered. A balance is an informal record between people who know each other, not a statement of a legally binding debt, and not a demand for payment by us. Check the figures before you rely on them. A payee can dispute a logged payment; disputes are settled between members. We do not arbitrate, and we are not responsible for what members owe each other.
You must be at least 13, or older where your country requires it for using an online service without a parent's consent. Give accurate details, keep your sign-in to yourself, and use one account for yourself only.
Entries, comments and slips you add stay yours. You let us store, copy and show them to the members of the ledger they belong to, only as needed to run the service. Only upload what you have the right to share. Slips often show other people's names or account details, so blank out what the ledger does not need.
Everyone in a ledger sees everything in it. The owner can invite and remove members. If you leave, or delete your account, the entries you made stay in the ledger under "former member", so everyone else's balances remain correct.
FundJournal is free to use; Pro adds features for a fee. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your App Store or Google Play settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Lifetime is a one-time purchase tied to your store account. Payments and refunds are handled by the store under its own terms. We may change what Pro includes or costs; a price change applies from your next renewal, after the store has notified you.
Do not use FundJournal to break the law, to deceive or harass anyone (including through comments or nudges), to record other people's details without a reason, or to try to reach ledgers you were not invited to, copy the service, or overload it.
We keep improving the app and may change or remove features. If we ever shut the service down, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app so you can export your ledgers as CSV. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app.
We work to keep FundJournal accurate and available but provide it "as is": it may be unavailable or contain mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or HK$100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law does not let us exclude, or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
We will show important changes in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using FundJournal afterwards, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong courts may hear disputes. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of your own country's mandatory laws and may bring a claim in its courts. Please write to us first; most problems can be sorted out by email.
If you got FundJournal from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its maintenance or support, or any claim about it; if the app fails a warranty that applies, you can ask Apple to refund the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm you are not in a country under US embargo and not on a US list of prohibited parties.
